OnSite Retail Group quickly backfills space at Deerfield Pointe with restaurant
July 3, 2024A Middle Eastern and Mediterranean restaurant recently leased a vacant space at Deerfield Pointe.
The new activity caught the attention of Cincinnati Business Courier reporter, Christian LeDuc, who penned a story this week writing, “Shawerma Bite is opening its third location in Deerfield Township at 9329 Mason Montgomery Road. The 2,250-square-foot space is in the former New Balance/Lucky Shoes store building.”
Shawerma Bite owner, Maan Daaboul explained to LeDuc, “Shawerma is the hamburger of the Middle East”, and “The cooking happens right in front of the people.” The restaurant is designed like a fast-casual restaurant – similar to Chipotle. LeDuc explained, “Shawarma is a labor-intensive process, and according to Daaboul, no one does it better than his team. The prep starts about 24 hours before the meat ever touches the grill. Only a few of his family members and employees know the full recipe.”
Daaboul told LeDuc a family friend connected him with Jeff Smith and Josh Rothstein of OnSite Retail Group, who represented the landlord in the new lease. An opening within the next 6 months is Daaboul’s goal. LeDuc explained that Daaboul said he chose the location because of the prime real estate opportunity. Rothstein told LeDuc, “Backfilling this former shoe store with another restaurant speaks to the persistent demand for even more dining options in this submarket which continues to bustle with new developments in every direction.”
