MARCH 4, 2024 – One of Cincinnati’s hottest neighborhoods, Pleasant Ridge, continues its renaissance and is showing no signs of slowing down.  Nine Giant Brewing at 6905 Montgomery Road is the latest neighborhood establishment to make the news announcing a new, much-needed expansion into the neighboring space at 6907 Montgomery Road, a former American Family Insurance office.

 

Christian LeDuc, Staff Reporter at Cincinnati Business Courier posted a story today writing, “The expansion has been a long time coming, Nine Giant co-owner Michael Albarella told me. It was written into his original contract that if the space ever became available, he would get first right of refusal.”

 

LeDuc continued saying, “It took months of negotiating permits with the city, but construction on the 1,000-square-foot expansion started in September 2023 and finished close to the start of the new year. The new space adds around 800 square feet of dining space with 50 more seats, bringing the brewpub’s capacity to around 150.”  Albarella told LeDuc in addition to the dining room space 200 square feet were added to accommodate the expanded kitchen.

 

Representing the landlord in the expansion deal was Josh Rothstein of OnSite Retail Group, who told LeDuc, “This expansion from Nine Giant is just the latest in a sequence of enhancements to Pleasant Ridge’s thriving business district, all which continue to reinforce its emerging prowess as one of Cincinnati’s most exciting up-and-coming neighborhoods.”

 

In addition to Nine Giant which first opened in 2016, Albarella and his wife Christine added Fermentorium in 2021, a bar and special events space just around the corner from Nine Giant on Ridge Road.  Fermentorium features a variety of small batch beers, wine and tiki cocktails.
