OnSite Retail Group brokers deal to replace closed Maplewood Kitchen at Deerfield Towne Center

November 28, 2023

NOVEMBER 27, 2023 – A restaurant industry veteran is taking a big step forward in securing a prominent second location in the Cincinnati area.  Cincinnati Business Courier Digital Editor, Liz Engel, released a story yesterday announcing that Truva Turkish Kitchen is planning to open in the former Maplewood Kitchen and Bar space at Deerfield Towne Center in Deerfield Township, just south of Mason, OH.  The new restaurant will be located at 5065 Deerfield Blvd., and owner Murat Karahan plans to open the new restaurant by mid-January 2024.  Engel wrote, “It’s a big step up – literally – for Karahan and Truva. The new space measures around 7,500-square-feet, roughly double his existing location at 8060 Montgomery Road in Sycamore Township.”

Engel explained the new restaurant will maintain the look and feel of the Kenwood restaurant, and will offer a full bar.  Karahan told Engel he liked the new location for many or the same reasons he likes his Kenwood location – lots of businesses and other restaurants nearby.  Engel wrote in her story that Rothstein told her diners are looking for healthier options when going out to eat, and Truva’s menu offers a lighter, more Mediterranean feel and, “Whatever he is doing, Murat is doing it well,” Rothstein said.  “With all the excitement from the District at Deerfield development underway next door (a multi-phase, mixed-use development that will include a Fifty West Brewing, Bakersfield, Eagle and Pins Mechanical), and this turnkey restaurant still sitting available, pouncing on this space was strategically the right move at the right time for Truva to perpetuate their continued success in a complimentary market,” he said.
