Dayton-area Popeyes gear up for return of wildly popular new chicken sandwich

October 25, 2019

Dayton Daily News reporter Mark Fisher broke some exciting news today, writing “Dayton-area Popeyes restaurants have hired additional employees and introduced new training regimens specifically to accommodate the return of a new chicken sandwich that sold out in two weeks and provoked a social-media firestorm when it made its original debut in August.” Fisher quoted Pat Gilligan, the franchisee for Popeyes restaurants in the Dayton and Cincinnati markets, “We do not have an arrival date yet, but we believe it will be in early November.” Fisher explained “Dayton-area Popeyes restaurants have hired additional employees…specifically to accommodate the return of a new chicken sandwich that sold out in two weeks and provoked a social-media firestorm when it made its original debut in August.”

Gilligan acquired two existing Popeyes stores in 2016 and since then he added new stores in Englewood, Kettering and Springboro. Scott Saddlemire of OnSite Retail Group represented Gilligan in all three of those transactions.
