April 29, 2019

Andy Brownfield, Reporter at Cincinnati Business Courier, reported today, “Verizon Communications Inc. has chosen Cincinnati as one of 20 cities to roll out its next-generation 5G network this year. Verizon Wireless (NYSE: VZ) pledged to roll out its new 5G Ultra Wideband network to more than 30 cities in 2019, announcing the first 20”, which includes Cincinnati and Columbus.

In the article Brownfield describes the kind of speed users should expect, “Verizon’s 5G network is capable of speeds up to 1 Gbps (gigabit per second), which allows for video streaming in 4K, high definition video calling and the ability to download movies in seconds.”
